Gleneagles make the switch to automated maintenance

Early April saw an install at one of the United Kingdom’s top golf resorts, Gleneagles. Hosts to a number of major golf tournaments such as the 2014 Ryder cup and they will be hosting the 2019 Solheim Cup.

The AMS engineers set up the automated maintenance system with little to no disruption to the facility. Installed into Gleneagles beautiful driving range facility, the automated system includes the Belrobotics BigMow robotic mower. As well as the ‘Ball Picker’ ball collector robot, which works in conjunction with the AMS ball return sytem responsible for the ball washing and transportation back to the dispenser.

Since installing, they have found that Ball Picker has significantly reduced the amount of manpower needed to collect balls. The grass itself is in better condition as there is no heavy machinery involved. Ball Picker has become so convenient for them that they are considering installing a second one to maximise its capabilities.

Be sure to keep an eye on our social media pages for updates on how Gleneagles get on with the systems over the coming season.
